Dr. Laura Marin-Jimenez, DMD
Dr. Laura Marin-Jiménez one of our part time associates at Forrest Hill, was born in San José, Costa Rica, but spent most of her teen years in South Florida so she considers herself to be a Florida native.
Her journey in dentistry was somewhat peculiar as she never really considered a career in the dental field until her third year of undergraduate studies at University of Florida, go Gators!
While volunteering at the dental clinic at Shands Hospital she realized she could use her manual dexterity and love of art and medicine to make an impact in people’s lives through transforming their smiles and restoring their oral health.
She attended Temple University in Philadelphia, PA for her dental degree and afterwards completed a General Practice Residency at Woodhull Hospital, affiliated with New York University in Brooklyn, NY.
Dr. Marin has been practicing in central and south Florida for the last 10 years where she’s kept up to date with the latest trends and innovations in the fields of oral rehabilitation, implants, facial aesthetics and dental emergencies. She’s an advocate for disadvantaged communities and hopes one day we can bridge the disparity in access to adequate oral health care across the board for all populations.
On her days off you can expect to find her enjoying time with friends doing outdoor activities such as paddle boarding, riding bikes or attending live music events. If not there must definitely at home with her family and enjoying the company of her cats Charlie, Cece and Chancho.
